Thank you for your interest in joining our Finance team at Slough Borough Council.
Slough is a dynamic economic hub, with ambitions; strategically located at the gateway to London and the Thames Valley, with a good road network, situated on the GWR rail network with direct access to Central London via the Elizabeth line and proximity to Heathrow Airport.
This is not a typical local government opportunity – we are seeking exceptional finance and associated professionals who are ready to embrace a genuinely challenging but career-defining role.
The current team has addressed Slough’s backlog of accounts, and with a new permanent S151 officer in Annabel Scholes and a balanced budget for 2025/26 we can look forward with confidence to financial resilience and a future beyond intervention; to a position where we help shape our future under local government reorganisation.
The Finance and Procurement Teams have developed a detailed improvement programme that sets standards and expectations of behaviour as well as ensuring that there is a focus on supporting career development for all staff.
